Sky Ember

Privacy Policy

Effective August 24, 2026

Sky Ember is a display utility for macOS developed by Manoa Sky (inner aesthetics llc).

The short version

Sky Ember collects nothing. It has no network code. It cannot transmit anything, to anyone, ever.

Location

If you enable "Follow the sun," Sky Ember asks macOS for your approximate location once, rounds it to roughly one kilometer, and uses it solely to compute your local sunrise and sunset times on your Mac. This happens entirely on-device. Your location is never transmitted anywhere, never shared with any third party, never written to logs, and is stored only in the app's local preferences on your Mac. You may decline location access; the app then uses a fixed 7 AM – 7 PM schedule and all other features work identically.

What else is stored

Your settings (color temperature, dimming level, schedule preferences) are stored in the app's local preferences on your Mac, and nowhere else.

Analytics and tracking

None. Sky Ember contains no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting, no advertising frameworks, and no third-party code of any kind.

Deleting your data

Delete the app and its preferences and no trace remains. Revoke location access anytime in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services.

The launch email list (this website)

If you leave your email address on skyember.app to be notified when Sky Ember launches, that address and the date you signed up are stored with Cloudflare, the service that hosts this site. It is used to send you a single launch announcement and nothing else. It is never shared or sold. To be removed at any time, email [email protected] and we will delete it.

Contact

[email protected]

If a future version ever changes any of the above, this policy will be updated and the change noted in the app's release notes before it ships.

Be first to know. One email when Sky Ember launches, nothing else.
